Mission: Fetching Pure Grain Sand

Once more Shitai traveled with his giant glass jar to the far oasis, this place was not somewhere he came to often while the sun was out but he needed to keep his village's economy flowing even while the sun was hidden away. His kikai were still full of adrenaline from the assassination himself and Sabakukage Nahaji had performed he night before, it felt weird to think in terms like that now since it was well around noon but the brightness of the sky had not changed in the slightest. As he walked closer and closer to the banks of the oasis he thought back to when the sun shone brightly upon his village and warmed the people inside. They were happy times that were starting to fade away as this eternal night continued on.

As he arrived on the scene he set down the bottle and looked around for some decent grade sand, he found nothing of any value so he sighed and placed his palm down on the ground. "Look for some top quality stuff guys, we don't want to cut corners on materials and ruin our glass industry's reputation." His insect friends dug down into the ground and started to search for the sand their master needed in order to complete the task set in front of him, they would search for nearly a minute before finding some, clearly the absence of the sun to clean the sand was affecting this area, they needed some light soon

The kikaichu led Shitai to the site where the good sand was buried, as he walked over there mental flashes of his lab at home came across his mind. The body parts all strewn across the cold steel tables with blood stains he had not yet had the chance to clean up marking it to appear like some commoner's murder scene. He chuckled a little as he remembered what each body used to be, but whether they had been shinobi or citizen he cared not for all he desired was to pick their brains to his delight and study the way humans function.

When his feet felt the mass of swarming kikai beneath he looked down and the area sort of imploded. His insects came out with fresh sand tucked inside their mandibles while clearing away all the lesser grade product. He nodded before sticking his own hands into the soft earth and scooping it into the jar himself, it would take longer to fill this time since the workers competed for the space all the sand was packed into but he knew it would get done just the same. He continued on doing his job for a few minutes before he walked off to the side with the jar nearly full to let the kikai finish it off.

The jar steadily became full after about a minute and Shitai retrieved the normal materials to seal it from his pockets. The hemp cloth knocked any excess grains while allowing the sand to breathe and the elastic band held it on well enough. He picked up the jar and adjusted it on his shoulders, a quick sigh to relieve the stress. He didn't think sixty pounds was much weight at all but none the less it was in a cold glass jar on his back so if he didn't relax he might end up with not only the loss of the sand but a broken series of glass shards stuck in his spine. He made sure it wouldn't bounce around to much as he walked and he set off toward the drop off depot in the market district.

The kikaichu rushed to crawl up his leg even as he walked slowly to allow them to catch up. This set of kikai had quite a few newborns in it, the mission from last night had resulted in the loss of many of his beloved kikaichu's lives and he eternally regretted this and vowed to kill any kaguya he met again until the losses matched. There had been rumors that yet another member of that accursed tribe had been spotted and killed in the streets of the village a few hours ago and he was not afraid to share how much that pleased him whenever someone brought it up. He sighed and readjusted the jar as it started slipping and thought of nothing as he made the rest of his trip.
