Crime Watch: Gems [mission]

The shop was receiving a rather interesting shipment today, though the owners had only rarely ever stepped foot outside the boundaries of the Gust Country the elderly couple's taste in exotic gems was unrivaled. This time their order was especially valuable, so much in fact that they refused to allow the workers to even start unlatching the box until they were assured that Shitai (the hired shinobi) had arrived on the scene and briefly showed himself to them before hiding himself in the nearby area to watch for potential thieves looking to try and nab the piece.

He watched with interest as the armored box was opened to reveal the contents within, a pearl nearly as big around as Shitai's head. He was rather impressed that such an item could have been brought here from the southern pirates undamaged, in fact it seemed a little bit to perfect for such a work of nature. He thought about it and shook his head, the thieves had already struck before the drop off was even complete, in fact he came to the conclusion that they were hiding in plain sight dressed as the workers giving the unknowing elderly couple their fake pearl.

He needed to confirm though so he ducked in and out of the other shops and buildings around here until he gave up and returned to see who he assumed were fake workers packing up their supplies and waving good bye with handsome tips tucked deep into their shirt pockets. HE was sickened by them but wouldn't attack until he was sure they were who he thought, even a high ranking shinobi in a strict military village would be punished for a screw up that bad.

The pair walked rather casual style for a good ten minutes with the Aburame trailing them unseen as a passer by civilian in the crowds of the market district wading through the sea of people like a fish in a bowl a few sizes to small. Then, however, they ducked off almost unseen into an alley with constant eyes darting over their shoulders to make sure they weren't followed. Shitai chuckled and made his way calmly through the crowd to follow them before dropping kikaichu into the sands to follow in front of him beneath the sands, he only dropped about two dozen for now but they weren't an offensive unit, just a couple assorted between the basic breed and the poison type. He made his way to a seat at the end of the alley his targets went down near a cafe, he glanced down it to see it was a dead end and they were no where to be found so he ordered a drink and waited about ten minutes as his kikai unit went off to do their job.

Brisk iced tea was his drink of choice for this covert operation, he didn't have to do nearly anything at this point since the insects would give him all the information he could possibly require almost dead on to when he would finish this glass. The minutes passed and he finished his drink as one of his kikai, the leader of this particular squad and one of his largest poison types, crawled into his ear and issued him the report of what was needed. IT seemed the pair weren't just a pair but a trio which was nice to know before just walking into their hideout. This hideout was just as Shitai suspected, an old and forgotten entrance to a cellar of a building demolished when the new structures in this sector of town were raised, these secret basements were numerous throughout Sabakugakure since they were at one time built much deeper than now a days but easier access to water made it unnecessary to require the extra refrigeration of goods.

The report also mentioned that the real pearl was indeed down there foolishly kept in the open since it seemed they didn't believe the hideout could be found. He stood as the entire two dozen crawled back up his pant leg and back into his body while leaving the money for his drink on the table. He shook his head calmly as he turned to go down the alley, charging chakra into his throat for a possible ace in the hole in case it would be required.

He felt around for a moment and found the hollow part of the ground with his foot, a ring hidden beneath the sand was grabbed and raised rather loudly to alert those inside he was coming in. The door shut behind him and he walked down the steps slowly with a calmness that would chill most people without the heart of a shinobi. Before he even got halfway the two wearing worker uniform came up the steps to meet him, one brandishing a rather well crafted katana in his hands while the other seemed to be charging a high level ninjutsu in his throat just like Shitai. He chuckled at them and while the sword one jumped in front of the ninjutsu user his partner released a powerful burst of wind which pushed his forward. Shitai just chuckled before he opened his mouth to let loose a stream of fire that took up the entire rest of the stairs, luckily they were made of sandstone so they wouldn't burn and trap Shitai down here but unlucky for the pair the fuuton chakra of the opponent's attack mixed with his katon chakra and made it even strong and making the damage of the technique much more devastating.

Both of them now lay dead, covered head to toe in third degree burns and reduced in many places to smoking bone. He looked at his chest to see a rather nasty series of cuts from the fuuton attack launched at him but he would live easy enough. The third person came out now to see what was going on and caught a look of a smoking body being kicked down the stairs before the man that did it laid him out dead with a strike from his steel club dead on to the skull. Shitai found the back room with the pearl sitting on a pedestal, a grand work of nature as he had thought but the coloration was more the tint of the sea instead of a glossy white. He took the large gem and placed it in his bag before making his way back up the stairs to make his way to the jewel shop, he was sure the owners would be shocked to see what he had with him.
